Republic of Ireland vs Denmark Preview & Best Bets

The Republic of Ireland need to win to qualify for Euro 2020. Despite sitting top of Group D, their main rivals Denmark and Switzerland have a game in hand with their fixtures against Gibraltar and Georgia respectively coming on Friday night. By then, Ireland could be third and heading out.

Home advantage may tip the balance in the Republic of Ireland’s favour, with the Boys in Green unbeaten at the Aviva Stadium during qualification. They are currently 14/5 on Betfair to triumph.

Meanwhile, visitors Denmark are the only side that the Republic have failed to beat and the Danes are well-placed to succeed at 15/13 on SportPesa. A draw at 9/4 on Betway also looks appealing, especially as both sides have already drawn three games in qualification so far.

Christian Eriksen has three goals to his name so far, so there is no surprise that the Danes are 1/4 to score on Bet Victor.

But with neither side free-flowing in front of goal, it is a well-placed 10/11 odds on Betfred for both teams to score, especially as Ireland need to breach the Danish defence to progress.

Key Battle to Look out For

It’s no secret that Ireland have not exactly been banging in the goals with just six scored in seven games. Their opponents, Denmark however, have 16 to their name and are the only unbeaten side left in Group D.
