Premier League Darts Matchday 1 Betting Tips
After an exciting winter of darts at the World Championship at the Ally Pally, the Premier League is back.
Opening night sees plenty of exciting fixtures, with the two favorites going head to head and the likes of Rob Cross, Gary Anderson, and Gerwyn Price all wanting to get off to a good start.
van Gerwin and Wright are of course the main draws, but who will take the points on Thursday evening?
Michael van Gerwin v Peter Wright Betting Tips
The opening night of the Darts Premier League starts in style as van Gerwin takes on Wright.
The Dutchman is favorite at 5/6 with Paddy Power but Wright has been excellent in the last year and could be in line for his third televised title in 12 months.
Wright is 11/5 with the bookmaker which is well worth a punt, while he’s also at 7/1 to win and to secure the most 180s and highest checkout.
van Gerwin is, of course, a master though and a 7-4 win would be our punt in the tournament’s opener at 4/1.
If you’re backing Wright to do well and take the win, we’d look more to 7-5 on 11/2.
Gary Anderson v Daryl Gurney Betting Tips
Gary Anderson is 12/1 to win the Premier League, and William Hill is certain my backing him against Daryl Gurney at 21/20.
The bookie is pricing Gurney at 9/5 but you can get some good odds on the Flying Scotsman with Anderson to hit the first 180 and hit the first 99+ checkout at 2/1.
Anderson to win 7-3 looks well priced at 8/1, which would be our bet of the day, while Anderson to win, have the highest match checkout and to hit the most 180s at 5/1 seems a very reasonable wager.
It’s a tough start for Gurney and we don’t expect him to see off Anderson in this one.
