Kell Brook v Mark DeLuca Betting Tips
Kell Brook returns to the ring for the first time since December 2018, with a hometown fight on February 8.
The Sheffield fighter will see this as a make or break fight as he approaches the twilight of his career but has an excellent chance against Mark DeLuca, who has yet to fight anyone of the quality of Special K.
Brook is a heavy favorite with the former IBF welterweight champion hoping to arrive back in the rink in style.
Brook to win by knockout in the middle stages
Brook is determined to get back to fighting for titles and an impressive win will be a step in the right direction.
DeLuca has just one defeat to his name, but that won’t stop Brook pushing for the knockout.
He’s 2/5 to win by KO/TKO with Paddy Power, with most pundits and bookmakers expecting that to come in the early to middle rounds.
After so long out of the ring he might want to settle down, with rounds 4-6 a nice punt at 13/5 with the bookmaker.
An early knockout, rounds 1-3, is priced at 5/1, while Brook to win by Points or Decision at 11/4.
Our Tip: Brook to Return in Style
It’s a rather safe return to the ring for Kell and we can’t see him struggling against DeLuca, who’s facing a huge step up.
What will be interesting is how Brook’s eye sockets hold up, and that may leave him cautious early on.
Despite that, we’d fancy backing a knockout in rounds 1-6 with Paddy Power at 11/8 or rounds 4-6 at 13/5.
Win this one and we could see the big fights come in again. Brook has it all to prove after 14 months out of the ring, but we expect him to have few problems in front of a vocal home crowd.
