“The Clash on the Dunes” is the most anticipated boxing match this calendar year with Andy Ruiz Jr attempting to defeat to Anthony Joshua for the second time after their fight in June was stopped in the seventh round

That defeat meant Joshua lost his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles in his first loss as a professional. But, the Brit is being firmly backed by bookies with the best odds coming from Unibet at 4/9. Ruiz, meanwhile, is 9/4 at Paddy Power to inflict another humiliation with a draw at 33/1 on Betfair.

It will be the first heavyweight world title fight to take place in the Middle East as both competitors head into the bout with just one defeat to their name.

Where the Fight Will be Won

In their previous encounter, Ruiz floored Joshua four times before the stoppage in the seventh round. The last shot was labelled as one “from the Gods” by the Brit, believing that such a punch should never have hit him.

It’s no surprise therefore that Joshua has upped his training – particularly his sparring – as he gets ready for the rematch. And, as good as Ruiz was in the first encounter, Joshua almost certainly took the American lightly.

There surely can be no way that this will happen again or the Brit will face serious questions about his future in the sport. 4/9 odds on Unibet for Joshua looks a good deal, and Joshua to win by KO or TKO at 10/11 on Marathon Bet could also persuade many.
