The ITV Racing just keeps on coming in May, and Wednesday sees day one of York’s Dante Festival which promises plenty of Derby and Oaks pointers.
Wednesday’s feature races are the Group 2 Logistic Stakes and Group 3 Musidora Stakes where the fillies are battling it out to lay down a marker with the Oaks less than a month away.
As ever, we’ve checked out the card and our top Odds Picks for York on Wednesday are below – including a juicy little 12/1 fancy in the Logistic Stakes.
Our Top Odds Pick – Noon Star (15:10) – 15/8 at Paddy Power
Six winners of the Musidora have gone onto win the Oaks at Epsom and this year sees eight runners heading to post in what looks like a cracking renewal.
Noon Star has won two of her three starts and she looked highly impressive winning at Wetherby last month.
A feature of both her wins has been the way she’s finished her races – staying on strongly to the line – and she’s already single-figure odds for the Epsom Classic.
We’re expecting her to win this one and give trainer Sir Michael Stoute a record-equalling ninth success in the race.
Our Long Shot – Summerghand (14:40) – 12/1 at 888sport
Summerghand has been kept busy this year and bounced back to his best to land the Sprint on All-Weather Championship Finals Day at Lingfield at the start of April.
He then followed that up with victory in the Group 3 Abernant Stakes at Newmarket where he had Oxted, who he faces again here, in behind.
At double-figure odds, and with James Doyle an eye-catching jockey booking, Summerghand looks set to run another big race.
