It’s almost time for the Masters, and we’ve already made our top Odds Picks and outsider recommendations.
However, if you can’t wait till Sunday, the first round leader market is a great way to potentially start the tournament in style!
It’s a tough one to call, but with big prices available on every player, it could be a profitable play!
Our Top Odds Pick – Jordan Spieth E/W – 18/1 at Unibet (1/5 of the odds, first seven)
Early backers of Jordan Spieth for the Masters will have had mixed feelings after his win at the Texas Open.
It proved that no one is running hotter coming into Augusta, but winning two tournaments on the trot is a big ask, which is rarely achieved.
Far more likely is Spieth carrying his red-hot form into the first day.
Especially as Augusta is a course the former Masters champ clearly adores.
He’s also been starting well in recent weeks, shooting no worse than 70 in each of his previous seven opening rounds.
And with an each-way bet giving you over 3/1 on Spieth ending the opening day in the top seven, were backing Jordan to fire at Augusta once again.
Our Extra Pick – Cameron Smith E/W – 40/1 at Betfred (1/5 of the odds, first seven)
More than one record was broken last November, as Cameron Smith became the first player to ever shoot four rounds in the 60s at Augusta.
And no one would be surprised if he picked right back up where he left off this time around.
The amiable Australian (aren’t they all!) has made a habit of starting well too, breaking 70 in the first round at seven of his last nine tournaments.
And last year at Augusta the two-time PGA tour winner shot an opening 67, bettered by only five players.
And with an each-way bet giving you 8/1 on him finishing in the top seven after the opening day, we can’t resist another punt on Smith getting things going in style at Augusta!
