Crunch Thiem – Our Top ATP Finals Tennis Odds Picks

We’re down to the last four in the ATP Finals, and there’s a compelling couple of matches in prospect, as the world’s top two players face stern challenges from the young pretenders to their thrones.

And in an intriguing twist, both Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev have the opportunity not only to qualify for tomorrow’s final, but become one of a select few players to have beaten Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the same tournament.

The first semi-final is a tough one to call, as Novak Djokovic has a winning record overall against Thiem, but he has lost four of his last six matches against the Austrian, including last year in this tournament.

Thiem also looked in great form when defeating Rafael Nadal in the group stage, but his defeat against Andrey Rublev in his final group match is a concern, even if it was a dead rubber.

So we’re swerving a punt on the outright winner, but with four of their last five matches going to a final set, and the fifth being comprised of two tie breaks, we’re confident that this one will go the distance too.

Our Top Rafael Nadal v Daniil Medvedev Odds Pick – Rafael Nadal to Win – 23/20 at 888sport

The second semi-final has a similar narrative going into it, as Daniil Medvedev looks to beat Rafael Nadal, after topping his own group and defeating Novak Djokovic along the way.

Medvedev may have looked hugely impressive so far, but his record against the Spaniard is of great concern, having lost each of their three meetings, all of which were on hard courts.

You get the feeling that not only does Nadal have the mental edge over his opponent, but his big-game mentality will really come to the fore now we are in the knockout stage, and we’re happy to take on the bookies and back the outsider in this one.
