Players Championship – A Final Chance For Trump?

The boys are back on the baize in Milton Keynes, as the 16 best potters and shotters gather for the latest snooker ranking event.

Just four wins over a week of action can see you scoop one of the most sought-after prizes on the tour, with Judd Trump and Ronnie O’Sullivan two of the players to beat having dominated the tournament over the past four years.

Who do we see making their mark inside the Marshall Arena this week?

Check out our top Odds Pick and Extra Pick below.

Our Top Odds Pick – Judd Trump to make the final – 13/8 with BoyleSports

Judd Trump to make the final

We’ve got three big reasons why Judd Trump is well-priced to reach the Players Championship final on Sunday.

  1. He’s won this event twice in the last four years.
  2. He’s the current world number one.
  3. He’s in the favourable top half of the draw, avoiding serial winners Neil Robertson and Mark Selby until the final.

Besides that, Trump is in good form on the tour, reaching six finals from nine tournaments this season, winning four of them.

Our Extra Pick – Mark Selby to win the Players Championship – 6/1 with bet365

Mark Selby to win the Players Championship

Mark Selby is a ruthless snooker player.

The Jester from Leicester may lack that star-power that some of the other players have developed, but the 37-year-old is always there or there abouts in the biggest tournaments.

The three-time world champion has won just about everything on the tour, but is yet to get past the semi-final stages of the Players Championship – that solitary semi-final came way back in 2011!

Selby will most likely have to get past old-timers and in-formers Mark Williams and John Higgins to reach the semis, but we think that the price is too good to ignore for the world number four.
