We’re down from ten to the Electric Eight in this season’s darts Premier League, as the sprint for the top four playoff spots begins when we resume on May 5.
Glen Durrant and Rob Cross fell through the trap door this past week with “Duzza” going pointless across his defence of the Premier League crown.
If anything was to underline the importance of form in darts then the Teessider’s elimination did just that!
So, how has the winners market changed for the 2021 Premier League as we approach the home stretch?
Check out the Odds Movers below!
2021 Premier League winner
van Gerwen, Michael
van den Bergh, Dimitri
de Sousa, Jose
Michael van Gerwen – 8/5 out to 15/8 with 888sport
“Mighty Mike” is continuing to blow hot and cold in 2021 but can never be counted out of a major.
The Dutchman has five Premier League crowns to his name and currently sits inside the top three on 11 points.
He’s only suffered two defeats in nine matches and it would be a surprise not to see MVG at the playoffs later this year.
Dimitri van den Bergh – 13/2 into 11/4 at Unibet
Dancing Dimitri has glided his way to the joint-top of the league and is playing beautifully at the oche.
Averaging 99 for the tournament so far with a 51% checkout the Belgian is a front-runner for the playoffs in his debut season.
He’s only got one defeat to his name so far – a match where he averaged 99 against Jose de Sousa – and looks like the form player of the pack at the moment.
11/4 shows the confidence the bookies have that van den Bergh will continue this run.
Nathan Aspinall – 11/1 into 6/1 with Betfair
The “Asp” is unbeaten in the Premier League since week two and is playing some of the most consistent darts on the PDC Tour.
His game has it all, and with the burning hunger of finishing runner-up last season, 6/1 is a huge price for Aspinall to land another major crown.
He currently sits top of the pile with a healthy legs difference and is safe in the knowledge that he can beat anyone on his day.
Jonny Clayton – 5/1 out to 17/2 with bet365
Clayton found it tough in the second week of the Premier League picking up just one win in four.
The Ferret is down to fifth in the league but is still leading the way in the averages with an impressive 101.
The Masters champion is still to be considered one of the form players so far in 2021 and underlined that threat by toppling MVG 7-3 in his last Premier League outing.
17/2 says we get another debutant winning this season’s biggun!
