Norwich City v Brentford – Pukki Party Trumps Toney Awards

We’ve got a Championship top two ding-dong to look forward to on Wednesday, as the tea-time teaser comes from Carrow Road between two impressive outfits.

The Canaries seem to be gliding seamlessly to a Premier League return sitting on top of the Championship perch, but just seven points behind are Thomas Frank’s Bees who average close to two goals a game.

If this wasn’t enough, it’s also a clash between two of the league’s top three goalscorers – Teemu Pukki of Norwich and Ivan Toney of Brentford.

A win for either side here would really rubber-stamp their credentials for promotion this season, but which way will it go?

Check out our top Odds Pick and Long Shot below.

Our Top Odds Pick – Norwich to be winning at half-time – 15/8 with bet365

Norwich to be winning at half-time

Norwich have lost just once at home all season in the Championship, conceding a frugal nine goals in the process.

This stubbornness has allowed them to pick up and impressive 35 points at Carrow Road, only bettered by Watford and Wednesday’s opponents Brentford.

The Bees have lost their last two away matches at Coventry and QPR and we think the fast start will come from the hosts as the sun sets in Norfolk.

Our Long Shot – Teemu Pukki to score anytime and Norwich to win 2-1 – 12/1

Teemu Pukki to score anytime and Norwich to win 2-1

Teemu Pukki has 18 league goals to his name this season, scoring seven of them in Norwich’s last five matches.

The Finnish international is on a real hot-streak in front of goal and will be looking to close the gap on the runaway Championship goalscorer in the away corner, Ivan Toney.

Brentford won’t roll over easily this midweek, but that bit of extra quality is really shining through for the Canaries at the moment.

A 2-1 home win looks a fair call.
