Arizona and Seattle are flying in opposite directions heading into their Thursday Night Football matchup, with the Cardinals soaring after a dramatic win over Buffalo last week, and the Seahawks suffering after two consecutive losses.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is dropping out of the MVP conversation quicker than you-know-what through a goose, and as for his Arizona counterpart Kyler Murray, its a case of “Lamar who?”, as he is now the league’s most exciting QB on the ground.
And whether those trends continue or not, we know we’re in for an exciting prime time battle in Seattle.
Our Top Odds Pick – Over 56.5 Points – 10/11 at 888sport
This game has all the signs of being a shootout, and a large part of the reason for that is Seattle’s inability to stop their opponents scoring, as they have conceded an average of almost 30 points per game, and they haven’t limited their opponents to less than 23 points in any match this season.
Which all means that a visit from Arizona is about as welcome as your drunk Uncle on Christmas day, as they top the charts in yards per game and rushing yards, and have won four out of five games.
The last time these divisional rivals met was a mere three weeks, ago, and they produced a 37-34 classic, so we’re confident of more fireworks here.
Our Extra Pick – Kyler Murray over 281.5 pass yards – 91/100 at Ladbrokes
One of the stories of the season so far has been the form of Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, who is fast becoming one of the most exciting players in the league.
Murray is one of the league’s best rushers, but his passing stats are not too shabby either, averaging almost 264 passing yards a game, and with arguably the league’s best wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to call upon, fresh from a superhuman hail mary grab last time out, he should once again prosper against the Seahawks.
And if you needed any more persuading, we should point out that Seattle have allowed opponents to plunder a league-leading 353 yards a game, they are the only side to concede an average of over 4 touchdowns a game, and last time Murray played them he threw for 360 yards – case closed!
Our Long Shot – Kyler Murray & Russell Wilson to have 350+ passing yards each – 12/1 at Betfair
Seattle’s defensive woes are clear, but Arizona isn’t exactly making any headlines on that front, as they have conceded almost 300 yards a game in their last three matches.
And if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s not to write off class players, and Seattle QB Russell Wilson will be itching to prove the doubters wrong, as will his star receiver DK Metcalf, who will relish a game against anyone other than Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsay!
Wilson passed for 388 yards the last time these teams met, to go with Kyler Murray’s 360, and with that game being just three weeks ago, it’s a fair assumption that they can match that, in what promises to be a shootout in Seattle.
