All eyes will be on Navan on Thursday as one of the superstars of UK & Irish jump racing, Tiger Roll, is back.
The two-time Grand National winner is running in a maiden race on the flat, taking his first steps on another hopeful road to Aintree… and a chance to make history.
Owned by Mr Ryanair himself, Michael O’Leary, connections will be hoping that Tiger Roll is as quick off the mark as a bus full of new arrivals headed for passport control.
A spin over the 1 mile 6-furlong trip is far from ideal for Tiger Roll, but there will be plenty of punters willing to chuck a few quid on him, especially at odds of 13/2 at 888sport.
Trainer Gordon Elliott has reported that Tiger Roll is in “absolutely great form” but that this race is merely a stepping stone for far bigger things over the coming months.
Tiger Roll will be ridden by 16 year old Sam Ewing on Thursday – not sure I could make a bacon roll at 16!
