Grand National Festival Day Two – Odds Picks

Friday sees more top-class racing action at Aintree that includes four Grade 1 contests – a tasty appetiser before Saturday’s main event.

We’ve scoped out the card and you can check out our top Odds Picks below including a juicy 14/1 fancy in the Topham Chase.

Our Top Odds Pick – Fakir D’Oudairies (15:25) – 3/1 at Betfair

Fakir D’Oudairies was the bridesmaid once more last time out, running 2nd to Allaho in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.

He’s now filled the runners-up spot on his last five completed starts and, interestingly, connections pulled him from his intended run at Fairyhouse on Monday to send him here.

This appears to be his optimum trip and he was only beaten by a neck on his sole appearance at this venue – a repeat of his Cheltenham performance should see him a class above this field.

Our Long Shot – Modus (16:05) – 14/1 at Coral

Modus to win the 16:05 at Aintree

Modus is a smart chaser who defied a 465-day absence to win here at the start of November over 2 mile and 3-furlong.

He then followed that up with a solid 3rd in the Sefton over this course and distance in December, staying on well on soft ground.

This quicker ground will suit better and he’s been given a break so will arrive here fresh – with the stable in great form, he looks set to run a big race.
