The top-quality racing continues on both sides of the Irish Sea on Sunday, with a high-class card at Leopardstown and the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow.
We’ve studied the form and selected our top Odds Picks for Sunday’s racing including a tasty 10/1 fancy in the Welsh Grand National.
Our Top Odds Pick – Ballyadam (13:45 at Leopardstown) – 15/8 at 888sport
Ballyadam made it two from two over hurdles when winning the Royal Bond at Fairyhouse last month, cementing his place as one of the current leading novice hurdlers.
Some in the Gordon Elliott yard say he’s the best they’ve ever ridden and he’s shaping up to be just as impressive as stablemate Envoi Allen.
He’s open to plenty of improvement and although he could be a bit more fluent at the hurdles, he should have enough class to land this Grade 1 event.
Our Long Shot – Christmas In April (14:50 at Chepstow) – 10/1 at bet365
A festively named selection for the Welsh Grand National which is expected to be run on heavy ground – we can see this turning into a slogfest around Chepstow.
One thing that Christmas In April does have is stamina, he won the Devon and Sussex National’s this year, before being pulled up after being sent off favourite in the Midlands National.
He made a decent return to action at Fontwell last time out doing his best work in the closing stages – off a light-weight here, he could go very close.
