Chester May Festival Day Two – Odds Picks

It’s day two of Chester’s May Festival on Thursday and it’s another top-class card of racing action to enjoy.

The feature races are the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes and the Listed Dee Stakes, and both are live on ITV Racing.

Once again, we’ve cast our expert eye over the card and picked out our top Odds Picks which you can check out below.

Our Top Odds Pick – Japan (15:15) – 13/8 at Coral

Japan to win the 15:15 at Chester

Aidan O’Brien’s Japan makes his seasonal reappearance here as he looks to put a disappointing 2020 campaign behind him.

He was a dual Grade 1 winner in 2019 but struggled last season with a 3rd place showing in the Eclipse at Sandown his best piece of form.

His sights are lowered here, dropping into Group 3 company and, if he can run to the form of that Eclipse showing, then he will take all the beating in this field.

Our Long Shot – Baryshnikov (15:45) – 15/2 at Ladbrokes

Brand Logo
Baryshnikov to win the 15:45 at Chester

Baryshnikov is a course and distance winner, doing the business here in September before following it up with success at Ayr.

He ran midfield at Doncaster last month when slowly away but a return to this venue should see him in better light, especially from a handy-looking draw in stall 3.

We’re expecting him to track the leaders then strike for home and hopefully victory, up the Chester straight.

Please note that all odds are correct at time of publication and are subject to change.
