Champion Hurdle: Cheltenham Festival 2020: Betting Tips
Day one is Champion Day with the Champion Hurdle welcoming a strong field as usual.
It’s a tough one to call, but below you’ll find our top tips for the race including our to win backing and each way.
Pentland Hills to win at 5/1 with Paddy Power
The Champion Hurdle looks to be a head-to-head between Pentland Hills and Epatante, the latter of which is favorite at 7/2 with Paddy Power.
Pentland Hills is 5/1 and after a win in the Triumph last year we’d look to the Nicky Henderson trained horse. He was frustrating in the trial but news coming out of the stables is he’s looking good and well placed for a strong run.
Supasundae each way at 10/1 with Coral
Epatante is a banker as an each-way punt but we’d also look at the better priced Supasundae who is in good form and expected to go well according to trainer Jessica Harrington.
Certainly an outside shot, with the 10-year-old having run the Stayers’ in the last few years, but the shift to two miles could be extremely helpful going up the Cheltenham hill.
At 10/1 with Coral, each way looks an excellent punt.
