Sports fans in Tampa have never had it so good, and it’s not because they get around eight months of sunshine every year!
It’s because the Tampa Bay Lightning won Ice Hockey’s Stanley Cup, Tom Brady is leading the Buccaneers back to relevance in the NFL, and the Tampa Bay Rays have reached the World Series.
And there’s an East v West clash on the cards as they face the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Our Odds Pick – Seven Games in the World Series – 2/1 at Paddy Power
The Dodgers are heavily favoured to win their seventh World Series, after securing a league-best 43-17 record.
However, they have taken the hard road, coming back from 3-1 down in the National League Championship, to beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3.
That victory will have super-charged their confidence levels, and they will be determined to stamp their authority on the Rays.
Mookie’s the Man
The magnificently-monikered Mookie Betts, is one of the Dodgers’ best players.
Sounding like a strangely-named bookie, Betts’ outfield exploits have propelled his team to the brink of glory.
But the Rays will be no pushover, as their regular season win total of 40 was bettered only by the Dodgers.
In their American League Championship match, they reached the same destination but by a different road, losing a 3-1 lead but winning a dramatic game 7 against the Houston Astros.
Four out of the last six World Series have also ended 4-3, and we reckon this one will go the distance too.
