Eredivisie Odds & Betting – The Odds Manager Guide

Forget tulips, clogs and pancakes, the Eredivisie in the Netherlands is what the country should be most famous for!

We’ve had three different winners in the last three seasons of Dutch top-flight football with PSV Eindhoven, Feyenoord and Ajax all jostling for position to be crowned the number one team in the country.

AZ Alkmaar and FC Twente were the last sides to break their hold on the Eredivisie winning the title in 2009 and 2010, respectively.

We are expecting a winner to come from those three again, but can Vitesse continue their good start to the season and spring a surprise?

Here are all the latest odds for the upcoming matches in the Eredivisie.

Why Bet On The Eredivisie?

As we’ve seen over the last three seasons, the Eredivisie is one of the most competitive leagues at the top end of the European scale.

You’ve got as much chance picking an underdog to get a win as any other league across Europe.

And with a healthy battle going on for survival at the foot of the table, no team can be considered a write off.

The Dutch national side is also returning to form ahead of the European Championships in the summer, so keep your eyes peeled for the next breakthrough talent and be ready to claim to your mates that you were the first to hear about them!

Top Goalscorer Contenders In The Eredivisie

There is currently a tight race going on for the top goalscorer in the Eredivisie with a handful of contenders slugging it out:

  • Steven Berghuis – Feyenoord’s captain and penalty taker is a solid shout for this year’s prize. He netted 15 in 24 Eredivisie matches last season before the shutdown and is a constant threat.
  • Dusan Tadic – Tadic takes spot kicks for Ajax and despite playing on the left-wing is a constant threat. He scored 28 goals for Ajax the season before last and is one of the best players in the division.
  • Giorgos Giakoumakis – The Greek striker is a new addition to the VVV side but has hit the ground running. He’s been responsible for a lot of VVV’s points so far this season and should continue this form.
  • Danilo – After making a move from Ajax, 21-year-old Danilo is blossoming. The Brazilian is a constant threat leading the Twente line and is only going to get better.

What Happened Last Season?

Last season – COVID-19 happened. After the Eredivisie was suspended on March 12, 2020, the abandonment of the whole season was confirmed on April 24, 2020.

The league stopped while Ajax and AZ were tied on 56 points at the top of the table having both played 25 matches.

No champions were crowned and no relegation was sanctioned but Ajax and AZ were still awarded places in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League.

RKC Waalwijk were the side that breathed the biggest sigh of relief – Fred Grim’s team were bottom of the Eredivisie by four points but escaped the drop to the Eerste Divisie.
